George Clooney feared he had been stricken with Malaria
For a time, outspoken activist and actor George Clooney feared he had been stricken with Malaria after going on a peace mission to Darfur, which is a war zone filled with fleeing refugees.
When Clooney returned from his mission, he fell ill, and his symptoms mimicked those of the deadly disease, which is widespread in Africa. A spokesperson for Clooney eased all fears by telling Pagesix.com that what was initially thought to be Malaria, turned out to be a case of food poisoning. "George does not have malaria, but he felt like he had the effects of it at one point." Clooney's rep told the website. "It was food poisoning from the flight back from Darfur." Maybe George should brush up on some of the medical knowledge he learned while on ER.
