The television personality says her contract was not renewed.
Star Jones announced today on air that she will not be returning for The View’s tenth season this summer. Her departure announcement went like this:
“Something’s been on my heart for a little bit, and after much prayer and counsel I feel like this is the right time to tell you that the show is moving in another direction for its tenth season and I will not be returning as co-host next year.”
Straightforward and to the point pretty much, right? Ah, but things are not always as they appear. It has been rumored that Star would be leaving ever since the announcement was made that Rosie O
Donnell would be coming on board, because the two don
t exactly get along. And not just in the way that Star and Joy don
t get along, in the Rosie writes mean yet hilarious poetry about Star
s-plastic surgery and possibly gay husband kind of not getting along. Was Star
s departure a point of agreement in Rosie
s contract? Star had this to say to People: “What you don’t know is that my contract was not renewed for the tenth season. I feel like I was fired.” And that, as they say, is that.
