Spoiler Warning: This article contains spoilers for Outlander Season 5, Episode 11, “Journeycake.”
Last night’s Outlander left fans reeling as Claire was suddenly kidnapped by the Browns and Jamie declared war in response. After an emotionally rocking episode that was (thankfully) heavy on the Jamie-Claire romance, we’re entering next week’s finale with the stakes higher than they’ve ever been, and only one short episode to wrap things up. One thing is clear: hell hath no fury like Jamie with Claire taken from him, and star Sam Heughan’s comments about the finale aren’t making us feel any calmer. Heughan hosted a Twitter Q&A to chat about last night’s episode and field questions about what happens in the Outlander finale — and while he’s contractually obligated not to give out any serious spoilers, he did admit the episode will be “tough” to watch. Help!
It didn’t take long for someone to ask Heughan the question on everyone’s minds: What can we expect from next week? But those hoping for a step-by-step breakdown will be left disappointed: “Expect the unexpected,” the actor wrote. “It’s a gripping and a tough ep. Let’s hope the Frasers make it together…” Let’s hope?!?

Needless to say, fans are having all kinds of feelings about this ominous warning. “I swear to god if they’re separated again for any length of time I’m going to scream,” one viewer tweeted. “20 years is enough (I’m not a book reader, anyone reading this response pls don’t spoil it).”

“This is so not comforting. I’m equally terrified & excited,” another fan chimed in, while a third asked the truly important question: “How many drinks will this episode require?”
