It’s no secret that toilet paper has been a hard-to-find item during quarantine. Country star Sam Hunt’s wife, Hannah Lee Fowler, knew it was an ongoing issue, so she took matters into her own hands. She bought the household a bidet.
During an interview with CMT’s Hot 20 in a game called “Quarantine Confessions” Hunt shared that his wife was keeping the family well-stocked with groceries, but the bidet was a little over the top for his tastes. “I got out of the house the other day, and my wife had ordered a bidet,” he laughed. “I was like, ‘Nah, we’re not doing that. I made her send it back.”
Even host Katie Cook couldn’t convince the singer that bidets are a thing now — with sprayer kits, toilet seat attachments, and a whole host of bidet accessories in addition to bidets themselves. Hunt wasn’t going to budge even with a toilet paper shortage. “I’ve heard that, but I’m not even going to attempt to put that theory to the test,” he said. “This was like a cheap one, too. It looked like it cost about $40, so I didn’t trust it.”
Hunt might not be a bidet convert, but a whole slew of celebrities are singing its praises, including Tiffany Haddish. Haddish praised the bidet as the best purchase she’s ever made.
“My bidet. It was the best thing I’ve ever bought. It was $298, and I haven’t needed a man since. I’m telling you, it’s the most awesome thing in the world. Toilet paper lasts so long in my house because [the bidet] has a dryer on it. I love it, I gave that five stars Everybody needs it,” she told Entertainment Weekly in 2018. “I tried to share it on Twitter and with all my girlfriends. They’re like, “Oh my God, Tiffany, why you are you sending us toilet seats?” I’m like, “It’s the best, you have no idea.”
Even Haddish might have a hard time convincing Hunt how great of an invention it is.
