You’ve Got to See Jay-Z & Blue Ivy’s Father-Daughter Photoshoot from Super Bowl 2020

Sure, Sunday was a big night for football with lots of big football things happening. But Jay-Z and Blue Ivy’s Super Bowl bonding was surely the sweetest thing to come out of the annual sporting event. The father-daughter duo took the field in Miami before kickoff to do an impromptu photoshoot — and the adorable moment deserves its own MVP trophy.

The Carters (yep, Beyoncé was there, too!) were on the sidelines to watch as the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers duked it out during the championship game. Still, we have to imagine that Jay-Z’s favorite part of being there was just goofing off with his oldest daughter. The 8-year-old jumped in the air and struck poses while her rap mogul dad snapped photos and, wow, the #GirlDad vibes got us right in the feels. After their photo session, Jay-Z and Blue joined Beyoncé in a box seat to watch the highly anticipated football matchup.

It’s not surprising Jay-Z was at the game. His entertainment agency, ROC Nation, is part of a unique partnership with the NFL that gives Jay-Z influence over the league’s major music events — including the Super Bowl. Shakira, who performed alongside Jennifer Lopez during the halftime show, is a Roc Nation client.

And while the musical performance in the middle of the big game was pretty spectacular, it was Blue Ivy taking the field before the game that stole our hearts. Who knows? It might one day be Blue on the field during the official program to sing the National Anthem or perform her own halftime show as her mom did back in 2013.

She certainly seems to have inherited a double dose of the entertaining gene from her famous parents. Although she’s only in the third grade, she has already been featured on several of her parents’ songs. In November 2019, she was even recognized at the 2019 BET Soul Train Awards for her contribution to her mom’s The Lion King: The Gift album. She was one of the recipients of the Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award for co-writing “Brown Skin Girl,” a Billboard Hot 100 track.

As you can probably tell from Jay-Z’s Super Bowl photoshoot with his daughter, he and Beyoncé reportedly do whatever they can to encourage Blue’s artistic expression. “Blue Ivy is a natural performer and, unsurprisingly, she’s also very talented. When you see her dance, it’s obvious that she was born for it,” an insider told Hollywood Life last summer. “Beyoncé and Jay-Z really nurture her talent.”
