And baby makes three. Congratulations are in order for This Is Us star Chris Sullivan. The 39-year-old actor took to his Instagram page on Friday evening to confirm that he and his wife Rachel are expecting their first child together — a baby boy.
“WE’RE HAVING OUR FIRST BABY! And we just found out the sex. Swipe through for the gender reveal!” he proudly captioned the little one’s sonogram, as well as a series of other photos, including phallic-shaped objects and a diagram of the male reproductive system, indicating the baby’s gender.
The actor’s wife shared the same sonogram photo along with an announcement of her own. “It’s TRUE!!! You heard it from @sullivangrams we are having a BOY!! So excited!!” she wrote, adding that the couple is already working on the baby’s nursery and sorting through baby names.
“Nursery is in the works, names are being workshopped, doulas are being interviewed, naps are my go-to self care bc I’m just so 💤, so much to do and yet so much not to do, just enjoying the moment…life is good!” she added.
Fans quickly expressed excitement for the couple, who’ve been happily married in 2010. “Ahhh congratulations to you and @therealrachelsullivan. Absolutely delighted for you both. Hold on to your hats guys, it’s a wild ride!” one fan commented while another added, “Congratulations This is a great, fun announcement.”
Sullivan’s This Is Us co-stars also took to the comments section to share in the exciting news. “Ahhhh so excited!!! Congrats!!!” shared Parker Bates. Eris Baker, who plays Tess Pearson on the NBC series, also wrote, “Congratulations!!!! This is sooooo exciting.”
