There are many ways to be a helpful partner during pregnancy. But we’re here today to endorse the way Steve Kazee supports pregnant Jenna Dewan: giving her foot rubs and bean burritos to her preggo heart’s content. That isn’t the only thing Kazee does to make life easier for his expectant girlfriend, though. In fact, we’re pretty sure his behavior should serve as a field guide for partners during pregnancy.
Dewan opened up about how her actor boyfriend has been there for her as they prepare to welcome their first child together (and her second — she and ex-husband Channing Tatum share daughter Everly, 6). “Steve is amazing,” she told People. He’s the most nurturing man,” she gushed. “He really is supportive and communicates well with me throughout the process. He’s always down for a foot rub and grabbing me bean burritos. He’s absolutely amazing.”
It’s safe to say Kazee is pretty pumped about growing their family. So, he’s right there with Dewan doing Google searches and poring over preparatory articles. “It’s another baby, more love. We’re also reading a lot about adding a sibling and how that’s going to affect Everly and how we can help with that transition for her and make it exciting,” the Flirty Dancing host continued.
Kazee may be the only one doling out massages and picking up Mexican food, but he’s by no means the only one in the house eagerly anticipating the new arrival. “He and Evy are really excited about the addition to the family,” said Dewan. “We’re like a little unit. It’s been so far, so good. We’re preparing for any and all ways for it to go, life is unexpected but we’re preparing and hoping for the best.”
Dewan and Kazee first announced her pregnancy in September, sharing, “We are beyond overjoyed and couldn’t be happier to be expanding our family!” And while they haven’t yet announced her due date, she did hint to People that it may not be too far in the future.
Discussing how she’s remained active, Dewan said, “I’m near the end, so I’m about yoga and walking rather than the strenuous activities.” She added, “I did as much as I could, when I could.”
