I’m sorry, are we seeing double? It seemed that way at Sunday’s Golden Globes when Zoë Kravitz and mom Lisa Bonet arrived. The resemblance between this mother-daughter duo is always on display, but it proved fully evident last night as the women posed on the red carpet and during the after-parties. Truly, we’re feeling more jealous of their gene pool with every passing day.
Kravitz and Bonet made the awards show evening a family affair, coming with Bonet’s husband — and Kravitz’s stepdad — Jason Momoa. In fact, Kravitz and Momoa joined forces during the ceremony to present an award. Not only are they family IRL, but they’re also family in the DC Comics world: Momoa plays Aquaman, and Kravitz was recently cast as Catwoman. But as hard as it is to take your eyes off of Momoa or Kravitz, and certainly Momoa and Kravitz together, it was Kravitz and her lookalike mom who had everyone doing double takes.
It’s not that the women were dressed similarly. They weren’t. Kravitz opted for a more structured, monochromatic polka-dot look by Saint Laurent. Bonet went with a flowy, ethereal boho embroidered gown by Fendi Couture. Kravitz rocked a short-cropped pixie cut. Bonet let her waist-length hair hang loosely. But that bone structure? Those faces?! The mother and daughter are basically each other’s doppelgangers. (See also: We need their youth serum, stat.)
Of course, Kravitz doesn’t just have Bonet to thank for her kickass genes. Rocker Lenny Kravitz also kicked in some. He and Bonet were married from 1987 to 1993, and they welcomed little Zoë into the world on Dec. 1, 1988.
Adorably, the entire blended family gets along great. Last month, Lenny shared a snapshot of himself with his daughter during her younger years in celebration of her birthday, captioning the grainy black-and-white memory, “Another year of dancing through this life with you my love.” In response, Momoa dropped a string of heart-eye emoji. And the proud stepdad often comments on photos shared by the rocker, suggesting the two are friendly.
