With one Golden Globe nomination for Best Drama Series, and three acting nominations for leads Olivia Colman (who ultimately won the award for Best Actress in a TV Series, Drama), Tobias Menzies, and Helena Bonham Carter, the cast of The Crown has every reason to be feeling like royalty tonight. It’s not quite as formal as the royal attire they wear on the series, but The Crown‘s cast looks at the Golden Globes were stunning nonetheless.
Colman and Menzies’s performances as Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip (and Bonham Carter’s as Princess Margaret!) have been highly praised by critics and viewers — and even the royal family. Okay, they didn’t exactly write a review of the Netflix show. But the royal family did post to their official Twitter account describing the official process behind how the Queen’s stamp portraits are created, which was featured in a Season 3 plotline. Coincidence? We think not!
Lady in red! Olivia Colman, AKA Queen Elizabeth II, wowed in a long red gown with dramatic sleeves and a matching clutch.
Tobias Menzies, the Prince Philip to Colman’s Queen Elizabeth, kept it classic with this year’s Golden Globes suit.
Josh O’Connor plays Prince Charles on Netflix’s The Crown, and he looks every bit the royal on the red carpet here.
