She may be getting Oscar buzz for her notable performance in the movie Hustlers — but Jenny From the Block still knows where she came from. Jennifer Lopez took to Instagram to pay homage to films like Selena and Maid In Manhattan, referring to them as some of her favorite movies she’s been in.
In the post, she shared a series of stills from her other films including U Turn, the 1997 thriller starring Sean Penn and Billy Bob Thorton, Blood And Wine, which she starred in with Jack Nicholson, Shall We Dance, her 2004 romantic drama with Richard Gere, and Out of Sight, the 1998 hit where she starred alongside George Clooney.
“It’s amazing to think about the incredible people I’ve had the opportunity to work with!” she captioned the photos.
She’s certainly come a long way — and even with so much accomplished, the 50-year-old is showing no signs of stopping. Earlier this month, the actress revealed to Vanity Fair that she is thinking about working behind the camera for a change, and directing a new project titled The Godmother, a film that Lopez is already set to star in.
“That’s one that I’m really thinking about maybe directing,” she revealed. “But again, I would need to have so much time to do that. It’s going to be a timing thing. I would have to clear, really clear decks. I could. And it’s just when the right time for that is.”
“I’ve always been motivated by, ‘I want to be a great actress, a great singer, a great dancer; I want to make movies, I want to make music,’ she revealed previously. “I bank on myself. It’s like, ‘Jenny from the Block,’ I do what I want, I do what I love.”
