It’s not very often we hear about Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively so when we do, we’re all ears. Reynolds recently gave an update on Blake and the couple’s third child — and it sounds like everyone has adapted nicely since baby No. 3 made her big debut four months ago. Reynolds and Lively already shared two kids prior to the little one’s arrival: James, 4, and Inez, 3. And now, according to Reynolds, they’re all hitting their stride as a family of five.
Speaking to Extra on Tuesday, Reynolds confirmed that life is moving along nicely at the Reynolds-Lively household. However, he did just very narrowly avoid a potential argument with his wife. As he previously told ET, the one thing Lively made him promise when he left to do press overseas for 6 Underground and Free Guy was to come home in one piece. Then, a video went viral on Twitter over the weekend, showing a barricade fall and nearly crush him. “I did [almost break my promise to Blake],” he joked, adding that his top concern at that moment was really the other people in the way of the crashing barrier.
So, crisis (and broken promise) averted. And when Extra asked how Reynolds’ wife and new baby are doing since their family grew, the actor gushed, “They are doing great.”

It’s nice to hear as much since Reynolds and Lively haven’t really addressed their newborn publicly up to this point. He did sort of give a glimpse of the child back in October, seeming at the time to indicate the family had brought home a third girl from the hospital.
At the time, he took to social media to share a snapshot of himself and Lively posing in the British Columbia woods. In his arms? Presumably, their new daughter, although Reynolds covered the child’s face with an illustrated smiley head. He captioned the sweet family snapshot, “I love B.C. I want my daughters to experience the same natural playground I grew up in.”
