Talk about a very lucky find…
You might recall the dress that Lady Gaga wore to the Golden Globes earlier this year: an exquisite two-piece, off-the-shoulder gown with puffy sleeves and a truly epic 10-foot train (that also happened to match her hairstyle for the evening). Well, the A Star is Born actress managed to leave the gown behind at the Beverly Hilton Hotel — where the awards were held in January.
It turns out a housekeeper at the Beverly Hilton discovered the Valentino Haute Couture gown. She found it as she was cleaning Gaga’s dressing room following the ceremony, which takes place in the hotel’s International Ballroom, amid an eye-popping throng of stars and a frenzy of press from around the globe. Now, the purple confection is set to be auctioned off today by an auction house in Los Angeles.
According to the Nate D. Sanders auction house, the hotel employee claims she found the gown after “the dress was left in the room,” and she turned it into the hotel’s lost and found. Then, on September 3 — nearly nine months after the event — the garment was returned to her.

Uh, not really buying the whole, ‘the hotel let me keep the dress’ argument but all seems set to go ahead for the auction; despite TMZ reporting that law enforcement sources said reps from Valentino made an incident report with Beverly Hills Police about the dress, and it risked being pulled…but within hours, the auction house confirmed the auction was in fact set to proceed as planned.
So, if you’re in the market for an outrageous ballgown worn by Lady Gaga, it could be yours. And just think: The 2020 Golden Globes are less than three months away, so you’d already have your wardrobe ready to go —just make sure to keep a close eye on it when you leave the building.
