This headline has us seeing all the dollar signs. Dwayne Johnson is the highest paid male actor of 2019. The actor is coming off some success with the latest Fast & Furious film, Hobbs and Shaw, and keeps adding more and more projects in front of and behind the camera to his schedule.
2019 marks the second year in a row the actor has earned the moniker. According to Forbes, the wrestler-turned-actor made an estimated $89.4 million in the last 12 months. Not only was The Rock’s major success due to the recent Fast & Furious spin-off, but also due to his lucrative projects including Skyscraper, which came out in July 2018, and his HBO series Ballers — where the actor earns $700,000 per episode. Sounds like a pretty good pay day to us!
Johnson will also be picking up some major dollars with Jumanji: The Next Level earning him $23.5 million. And it doesn’t end there. The Rock will be joining Emily Blunt next year in Disney’s next adventure film, Jungle Cruise.
But besides that honor from Forbes, the actor has even more — and more important, frankly — news to celebrate: Johnson recently got married to Lauren Hashian, whom he met when filming The Game Plan. The couple share two daughters and have been an item for roughly a decade. We’d say that’s a pretty good year, indeed.
