Lori Loughlin (Finally!) Has ‘Regrets’ Following College Admissions Scandal

Lori Loughlin has kept a lower profile lately, but we’re hearing something new from the Full House alum now. While she’s publicly maintained her innocence, a source reveals that Loughlin has regrets about the college admissions scandal. The revelation comes months after Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, pleaded not guilty for their involvement.

According to People, Loughlin wants to be clear that she regrets the situation and wants to move forward with legal proceedings. “Lori is remorseful, and she has definite regrets,” legal source told the outlet. “She’s embarrassed and hurt, and she knows that her reputation has been ruined for life. But she also believes the allegations against her aren’t true. She honestly didn’t think what she was doing was any different than donating money for a library or athletic field. That’s the crux of why she pleaded not guilty.”

Loughlin and Giannulli are among roughly 50 parents involved in the “Operation Varsity Blues” scandal, and the particular charges against them could land the pair in prison for up to 20 years.

Loughlin and Giannulli’s daughters, whose admission to USC lies at the center of this scandal, have largely stayed out of the spotlight — until recently. With reports and rumors whirling around how the Giannulli girls are handling the fallout from the scam, Olivia Jade took to Instagram to share a photo of herself flipping off the camera, and tagging a number of outlets that had been reporting on her. The caption adds: “#close #source #says.”

As for Loughlin herself, she and Giannulli are due back in court on August 27. People reports that they will waive their rights to separate attorneys in order to present a “united front,” and will be using attorneys from the same firm. “Lori is ready for this to be over,” the source concludes. “They all are. At this point, it would be better to spend a few months in jail — because she’s been spending the last several months in her own prison.” This real life drama is far from over.
