This story has us emotional. Prince Harry looked at photos of Princess Diana on a visit to the same hospital his mother visited 30 years ago. The late Princess of Wales was known for her philanthropic and humanitarian work. Stepping into his mother’s shoes, Prince Harry took some time to reminisce on his mother’s work while in Sheffield, England.
The Duke of Sussex visited the Sheffield Children’s Hospital on Thursday, July 25, to officially open its new wing. During his time there, Prince Harry signed the visitors book — like his mother did before him on her visit to the same hospital in November 1989. The Duke of Sussex greeted a number of the patients, including 2-year-old Noah Nicholson, who was fascinated by the Duke’s beard. “It was lovely, wasn’t it,” Tracy Nicholson, Noah’s mother shared, according to People. “He was really good with the children. He was really approachable.” But signing the guest book and visiting with children wasn’t the only connection Prince Harry shared with his mother on this particular visit.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Prince Harry also experienced another sentimental moment when he looked at photos of his late mother in an old photo album. The album included a number of images from the Princess of Wales’s visit to the hospital 30 years ago, which Harry looked at intently. Prince Harry was all smiles during his visit, as he met a number of the children and heard candid stories about his mother’s time at the hospital in 1989.
One nurse, Julie Austin, was working at Sheffield’s Children Hospital during his mother’s visit. “I had a patient that I looked after and had chosen to be in the line to meet her. She was late going round, because she stopped to talk to everybody. She was wonderful,” she told People of Princess Diana’s visit. We have no doubt whatsoever that Prince Harry demonstrated the exact same qualities as his mother during his visit. Based on the photos, we can expect the royal to continue the incredible legacy Princess Diana left.
