There’s going to be one very precious addition to this year’s Trooping the Colour event, and we can’t wait! Word on the street is that none other than Prince Louis will attend his first Tooping the Colour on Saturday, June 8, along with parents Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, as well as siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte. To be fair, the entire royal family will be at the event, but TBH all we really care about is Prince Louis!
According to a source for Us Weekly, Prince Louis will attend his first very big, very public royal event on June 8: Trooping the Colour. The ceremonial event involves the British and Commonwealth armies marching across the Buckingham Palace grounds — past the royal family — as a display of the army’s might and glory. Typically, a majority of the royal family is sandwiched onto a balcony at Buckingham Palace, so they can all get a good view of the army, which means fans of the family will get a good glimpse at all the royals hanging out and having a good time.
“He will most likely be arriving in one of the carriages with his siblings,” the source told Us Weekly. If this ends up happening, we can expect to see mom Kate, siblings George, 5, and Charlotte, 4, and little Louis all rolling up to Buckingham Palace looking regal as hell in their finest for the event.
However, kids will be kids, royal or not. Last year, George and his cousin, Savannah Phillips, stole the show when they were caught on video joking around and laughing. One of the best moments involved Savannah putting her hand over George’s mouth in an attempt to keep him quiet during the ceremony, but George was too mischievous to be contained. We fully expect George and Charlotte to help make sure Louis is having a fun time at Saturday’s event. They might even engage in some shenanigans in order to make that happen.
We also expect this event will be a nice way for parents William and Kate to put aside any and all rumors of an alleged affair William may have had with Kate’s close friend, Rose Hanbury. The rumors have plagued the couple non-stop for the past few months despite William threatening legal action against any outlets who would dare write about them. Considering Trooping the Colour is meant to be a celebratory event, we should expect to see William and Co. leaning in wholeheartedly and cheering on their nation’s troops with vigor.
