The world has been watching and waiting with baited breathe as Meghan’s late April due date came and went, with a report over the weekend stating the couple was “happy, relaxed and in good spirits. The baby is overdue, as first babies often are, but all is good at Frogmore Cottage.” With quite a few false alarms before today’s announcement, every move outside the couple’s new residence in Windsor has been scrutinized by reporters and fans alike.
The couple, who announced they were expecting back in October, shared a plan to keep their birth a little more private than big brother Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Meghan and Harry have opted to forgo the traditional hospital steps photocall and celebrate as a family in private first.
“Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private,” the statement read. “The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”
In the iconic words of the great Michael Scott, “OMG! It’s happening! Everybody stay calm!”
This is a developing story.
