Nikki Bella Confirms New Beau & Retirement from WWE in Total Bellas Finale

If you could have sworn you last saw Nikki Bella still grieving over her split from fiance John Cena, yeah, same. But the jam-packed season finale of Total Bellas concluded with Bella announcing she’s hanging up her wrestling boots and — judging from her exit on her Dancing With the Stars partner Artem Chigvintsev’s slick Ducati — she seems to be (literally) moving on from Cena, too.

Oh, yes, friends, Sunday’s season finale of Total Bellas did not disappoint. It started with the very first all-women’s pay-per-view event in the history of WWE, Evolution, squaring off Nikki Bella against Ronda Rousey for the championship title.

“This is what I’ve worked for the past 12 years,” Bella said of the match. “Nothing gets bigger than that.”

Did she win? Nope, but Bella seemed pretty happy nonetheless. “This was such a hell of a ride. And I’m just so proud of all the women,” she raved. After the event, she and her twin, Brie, headed to wine country in Napa Valley, California — the notorious almost-site of a wedding between Cena and Nikki.

Napa was hard on Nikki. “I feel like it was the first time I’m just fully, like, starting my true grieving and healing process [over split from Cena],” she told her twin sister. “I still have a long way to go, but honestly, I’m ready for a new me. I need it.”

After a European tour with WWE, without Brie, who gave up wrestling officially after Evolution, Nikki announced she was ready to hang up those wrestling boots like her twin. “I was like, why am I doing this anymore?” Nikki told her family.

But the twins aren’t on their own, not even close. Brie’s off in Phoenix with husband Daniel Bryan and daughter Birdie. And Nikki sure looks like she’s with her old Dancing With the Stars partner, Chigvintsev — judging from the end of the season finale, which showed her actually riding off into the L.A. sunset with him on the back of his Ducati. Can’t make this stuff up.

“I just feel like this free spirit. Truly like a butterfly out of her cage,” Nikki said pre-Ducati ride. “I’m ready to really explore new things and people and just really see what certain chemistries are all about.”

“New things?” “Certain chemistries”? Ahem. More like specific chemistries, but okay, we like a good cliffhanger as much as anyone else. We’re guessing there’s some very cool host gig in Nikki’s future… like this podcast with her sis. We’re in!

And she posted this after the finale, so there’s no guessing about that “chemistry,” is there?

Congrats to Nikki and this (very full) new chapter in her life!
