Denise Richards Is Coming to Daytime TV With a Role on The Bold & the Beautiful

You can go ahead and add “jack of all trades” to her list of skills, because Denise Richards is joining The Bold and the Beautiful. So, not only did she recently sign on to be part of the season nine roster of ladies on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but she’ll also be starring on the long-running CBS soap opera come April 3. And let’s be honest, Richards is a perfect addition to the cast of one of TV’s most celebrated “stories.”

People confirmed the news, revealing that Richards has snagged the contract role of Shauna Fulton. She’ll begin filming for the part on Feb. 22. “Shauna is a fun-loving, hard-working single mother from Las Vegas who aspires to live life to its absolute fullest,” executive producer and head writer Bradley Bell told People. “She heads for Los Angeles when she learns that her daughter, Florence ‘Flo’ (portrayed by Katrina Bowden), the pride and joy of her life, is entangled in a complicated situation. However, Shauna’s involvement won’t stop there. She’s got a past and big secrets to spill.”

Richards, who was once married to the always-beleaguered Charlie Sheen, is no stranger to drama. Her acting credits include “soapy” favorites like Melrose Place; Spin City; Sex, Love & Secrets; Jane the Virgin; and Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce. As for her latest gig, maybe Richards found inspiration in an RHOBH alum, Days of Our Lives star Eileen Davidson, or her current RHOBH costar Lisa Rinna. Outside her time as a series regular on seasons five through seven (and guest star on season eight) of RHOBH, Davidson is most famous for her role as Ashley Abbott on The Young and the Restless, a character she’s inhabited on and off since 1982. In fact, Davidson could be heading back to daytime TV around the same time as Richards. On Tuesday, she told the Inquisitr that she’d be open to returning to Y&R’s Genoa City as soon as the spring.

Sounds like RHOBH fans better clear their DVRs to make room for the new season of the drama-filled reality TV show — as well as upcoming episodes of some of TV’s top sudsers starring RHOBH’s own Richards and Davidson.
