It’s been a busy couple of days for Meghan (née Markle), Duchess of Sussex. While in New York City this week, Meghan’s schedule included a star-studded baby shower and some seriously swanky outings. The royal has been living it up in the Big Apple since Friday, catching up with old friends like Serena Williams before and after her Tuesday morning baby shower at The Mark Hotel, as reported by Harper’s Bazaar. So which celebrity pals of the duchess’s were lucky enough to snag an invite to the most exciting celebrity baby shower of 2019? Luckily for you, we have all the intel on who showed up to shower Meghan with love before she gives birth to her first child in April.
The celebrities in attendance at the baby shower were mostly intimate acquaintances of Meghan’s. Misha Nonoo, fashion designer and reported matchmaker for Harry and Meghan, was seen heading into The Mark on Tuesday. Abigail Spencer, Meghan’s former Suits costar (who was also invited to Meghan and Prince Harry’s wedding last year), was also there, arriving in sunglasses with a baby gift in her hand. Spencer also joined the duchess at The Surrey Hotel after Meghan enjoyed time at the Met Breuer art museum, according to the Mirror.
Jessica Mulroney, Meghan’s longtime BFF and stylist, was also in on the action. Mulroney reportedly had a major hand in wedding planning, so we wouldn’t be surprised if she lent her ultra-fab style to the shower as well. Markus Anderson — Meghan’s close friend, also rumored to have had a hand in introducing Harry and Meghan — was seen accompanying the duchess into the baby shower. Serena Williams was also in on the fun and later joined Meghan and Mulroney for dinner, as reported by People magazine.
As you can imagine, Twitter is ablaze with news reports, video clips and pics of the duchess’s whirlwind NYC trip. Today dished about the shower — and Meghan’s outrageously busy schedule in the coming month, which will include a trip to Morocco with Prince Harry — in a particularly informative report on what’s next for the royal couple.

Who couldn’t be there? Well, apparently Katie Couric was on the guest list, because she made sure to send her regrets via a Twitter post. We wonder what she got the royal baby for the shower…
So happy you got to NYC safely! I’m so sorry I couldn’t make it to the baby shower but let’s meet tomorrow for lunch at @fredsatbarneys! The fries are phenomenal and the baby will love them! 🤗

Also missing was the duchess’s close friend, actor Priyanka Chopra. Harper’s Bazaar noted that Prince Harry was missing from the revelry due to official duties with a children’s charity. Doria Ragland, Meghan’s mama, was in Los Angeles, where she was seen walking her dog. Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge (who you might know better as Kate Middleton), Meghan’s sister-in-law, was also absent from the festivities.
All in all, we’re sad we didn’t snag an invite to the royal baby shower, but we’ll get over it because we have to prep for the arrival of the royal baby, which is happening so soon!
