Nope, Ree Drummond Won’t Do DWTS — & Her Reason Will Make You Chuckle

It never hurts to see a bit of fun Dancing with the Stars casting, especially since the show brings celebrities we never thought had dancing chops to our attention. But it looks like there’s one star who’s dashing our dreams of seeing them compete for the coveted Mirrorball trophy — Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond won’t be joining Dancing with the Stars anytime soon, even though her fans are all for it.

Drummond hopped on Twitter first thing Thursday morning, seemingly amused by the dream she had the night before and ready to share it with the world.

“I dreamed I was on Dancing With the Stars and I kept wanting to sew sleeves on the sleeveless dresses they wanted me to wear, only I didn’t know how to use a sewing machine. Good morning!” she wrote.

Very quickly, fans chimed in with their approval of Drummond’s dream, going so far as to suggest she should actually participate in the next season of DWTS for real.

“@DancingABC make. this. happen,” one fan implored in the comments, while another enthusiastically wrote in, “I think you would be great on that show and probably win!”

Unfortunately, Drummond’s dancing shoes will be staying shelved for a long time to come because she responded to her fans’ pleas to consider appearing on the show with this explanation: “Oh man, I love you guys but Dancing With the Stars is not in the cards for me, as I’m afraid there is no such thing as a multicolored floral ballroom gown with relaxed 3/4 sleeves and a non-fitted waist. Also, pretty sure jeans aren’t allowed. Thank you for your cooperation.”

Welp, there you have it.

As far as a confirmed cast for the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars goes, fans will likely be waiting a while for that news. It was announced in December that the longtime ABC competition series will be taking a longer-than-usual hiatus, skipping its spring run. But don’t fret — it’s set to return in the fall. Unfortunately, Drummond won’t be a part of the lineup. Guess we’ll just have to content ourselves with Pioneer Woman reruns for the time being, huh?
