Christmas came a few days early this year for Flip or Flop’s Christina El Moussa, who married Ant Anstead, her handsome British boyfriend of more than a year, in a surprise “winter wonderland” ceremony.
Per People, the wedding took place at the couple’s home in Newport Beach, California. They kept the nuptials secret under the guise of a different kind of get-together: the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade. El Moussa and Anstead invited 70 of their closest friends and family to meet at their house, after which a charter bus would take everyone to the parade.
Only, when everyone arrived, they realized El Moussa and Anstead were actually getting hitched!
El Moussa’s daughter Taylor, 8, and son Brayden, 3 (with ex-husband Tarek El Moussa), as well as Anstead’s daughter Amelie, 15, and son Archie, 12 (from his previous marriage), were all apparently in on the secret. “We wanted to make it about the kids,” Anstead told People. “It’s the six of us. We’re a blended family, so it was really important for them to be a part of it.”

As for the ceremony itself, Christina told People they had a specific vibe in mind. “We wanted it to be rustic romance,” said the bride, who wore a lace dress by designer Ines Di Santo.
Christina also revealed that she will be changing her last name to match her new husband’s — and she’s looking forward to making it official. “It has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it? Christina Anstead,” she said, trying out her new married moniker. “We couldn’t be any happier!”
Leading up to the wedding, Christina posted a prophetic note to her Instagram that read, “Eventually you’ll end up where you need to be, with who you’re meant to be with, and doing what you should be doing.” She captioned the note with the verse Ecclesiastes 3:1 from the Bible: “To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the heaven.”
On Sunday morning, she posted a photo of the pair on their wedding day. “About Last Night,” Christina teased, adding the hashtag “#magical.”
The two, who began dating in October 2017 after being introduced by a mutual friend, often gush about each other on social media and in interviews.
In September, Christina explained her instant connection with Anstead to Access. “We have so much in common. We have a similar job. We have the same values. We have two kids,” she said, adding, “He doesn’t care about all the things and the fluff. And he’s so smart. He has the best imagination. He’s different than anyone else I’ve ever met.”
Anstead, Christina emphasized, is her “best friend.”
Although her ex-husband and Flip or Flip cohost Tarek hasn’t yet officially released a statement regarding the wedding, a source reportedly told Us Weekly that Tarek is “happy for Christina and he’s moved on” but that he “still cares about her deeply.”
Best wishes to this big, happy, beautiful blended family!
