Chrissy Teigen may just be the face of the 2018 holiday season with all the ways she’s helping us get into the holiday spirit this year. First, she and hubby John Legend came together for A Legendary Christmas With John and Chrissy, which aired on Wednesday and boasted an impressive 24 celebrity cameos, according to People. Now, Teigen has been tapped to cohost NBC’s New Year’s Eve broadcast with everyone’s favorite host, Carson Daly, and help us ring in 2019 in style.
E! News reports that, in addition to Teigen cohosting the New Year’s Eve special with Daly, Saturday Night Live star Leslie Jones will participate in the festivities. Since there’s really no party without some good music, country music star Keith Urban will perform live from Nashville as well as host the Jack Daniel’s Music City Midnight: New Year’s Eve from Nashville’s Bicentennial State Park. E! also notes in their report that even more guests will be announced a later date.
Last year, there was no New Year’s Eve broadcast, which means this one will likely (well, hopefully!) be bigger and better to make up for lost time; at least we hope so. The celebrity lineup so far already points to super-packed content for the one-hour holiday special, which will begin at 10/9c on the evening of Monday, Dec. 31. The special will reportedly break for the evening news broadcast and then return for the final countdown to 2019 at 11:30/10:30c and stay on the air until the morning of Tuesday, Jan. 1, wrapping at approximately 12:30/11:30c.
In the meantime, Teigen is still doing it all, from cohosting Lip Sync Battle to debuting a line of cookware with Target. Legend will join Teigen’s New Year’s Eve cohost Daly on The Voice in season 16 as a coach, giving us at least one solid reason to look forward to the upcoming new year.
