The new Queer Eye has already earned a reputation for matchmaking. After season one premiered on Netflix in March, the hero (how the show refers to its "make-better" subjects) from episode one, Tom Jackson, got some attention from outlets like Us Weekly when he and his second wife, Abby Parr, rekindled their romance, then broke up again, then tied the knot for a second time in May. Now, another couple from the show has exchanged vows in a beautiful beachside ceremony.
Refinery29 reports that William Mahnken, who told wardrobe expert Tan France in his season two episode that his style icon is Frasier Crane, has married his longtime girlfriend Shannan Eller. We saw the proposal in Mahnken's episode: an over-the-top outdoor movie presentation of a romantic comedy-inspired "movie trailer" in which Mahnken comes up for a new word for love that's just "Shannan."
According to Refinery29, Mahnken updated his private Instagram and revealed that he and Eller married recently in a private beach ceremony on Amelia Island, which is off the coast of Florida. Queer Eye shared photos from the wedding on their official Instagram account and they are absolutely stunning. The couple opted for a blue-and-green color palette that would have made the Fab Five proud. The sunset in the background adds even more romance to the event.
In their caption, the Queer Eye social media folks wrote, "Congratulations William and Shannan! Thank you for letting us be a part of your love story and we hope that the next phase of your life is filled with love, movies, and a lot of avocado goddess! We Shannan you both," along with a sparkly heart, stars and more heart emoji.
Mahnken had just one goal that he wanted to accomplish after his Fab Five make-better was completed: He wanted to propose to Eller. It's really sweet that the Queer Eye team shared their ride into the sunset — literally — and imbued the post with so many references from his episode of the show. We wish this happy couple the very best for the future.
