It’s shaping up to be a banner year for the Middleton family! Not only did the Duchess of Cambridge, aka Kate Middleton, give birth to her third child with Prince William, a baby boy, on Monday, April 23, but her little sister, Pippa Middleton, is reportedly expecting her first child. Although a rep for Pippa Middleton declined to comment to People about the potential joyous news, U.K. newspaper The Sun cites a friend of the family who claims Middleton is preggers and “utterly overjoyed” about it.
Middleton and her financier husband, James Matthews — who will celebrate their one-year anniversary on May 20 — “have always known they wanted children,” the source told The Sun.
Making the news even more special, of course, is the fact that the Middleton sisters get to experience pregnancy together. Granted, Kate has already given birth and Middleton will reportedly welcome her bundle in October, but you get it. However, their kids will be close in age, and that always makes for fun family dynamics. Middleton even chose to share the news of her pregnancy with her sister first (after Matthews, of course), and the duchess reportedly “could not have been more delighted.”
As she prepares for motherhood, Middleton will undoubtedly lean on her sister for parenting advice. The Duchess of Cambridge’s accrued plenty of on-the-job experience as the mother of 4-year-old Prince George and 2-year-old Princess Charlotte. Even now, Kate continues to keep up with her kids’ schooling and a general frenetic pace. “This was the same with her last pregnancy,” a source told E! News. “She carried on until the last moment. She’s full of energy and excited about the new arrival.” Yep, Pippa Middleton is fortunate to have a sister like Kate to call on in moments of new-parent need.
The family connection doesn’t stop there, though. Mere weeks ago, Matthews’ younger brother Spencer Matthews and his model fiancée, Vogue Williams, announced they were expecting their first child too. Babies abound in the Middleton family!
