Most of the time, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively make up one of the most loving couples in Hollywood (when they’re not “feuding” on social media, that is). But they have occasional hiccups just like all healthy couples. They probably get into little spats now and then over trivial things. And then there was that time Reynolds tried to kill Lively on Valentine’s Day.
OK, OK, that’s not exactly how it went down. But Reynolds, knowing full well how his skills are in the kitchen (remember the disaster that ensued the time he tried to make Christmas cookies?), decided it would be great for him to honor his wifey on Love Day by making her a baked treat. Some people just never learn.
Reynolds took to Instagram to share what he made, and on the surface, it looks like he did a pretty good job. It’s a gorgeous cake with pink sprinkles and a heart made out of strawberry slices. It looks delicious and festive. Well done, Reynolds!
… except the caption Reynolds posted tells the real story.
“I baked this cake for my wife,” he wrote. “The icing is glue, ‘cause I’m not a scientist.”
OK, so maybe step away from the oven, Reynolds. No one deserves to eat glue cake on Valentine’s Day or any day for that matter.
Of course, it’s likely Reynolds was joking about the glue. He’s notorious for his dry sense of humor on social media. But then again, what if he wasn’t? If Ryan Reynolds ever offers you a slice of cake, turn it down just to be safe. Hopefully, Lively got the memo before it was too late.
