Happy Valentine’s Day — unless you’re Bristol Palin. The politician’s daughter-turned-reality TV star doesn’t have too much to celebrate on the holiday of love if reports are true that she and her second husband, Dakota Meyer, just split up.
TMZ is reporting that the couple has called it quits after about a year and a half together, and there are definitely some clues that back up the rumor, including the fact that Palin and Meyer no longer follow each other on Instagram. Palin’s rep refused to confirm the split or comment, but reading between the lines, things don’t look too good for these two.
Palin and Meyer share two daughters together, 2-year-old Sailor and 9-month-old Atlee. Palin is also mom to 9-year-old Tripp from her previous relationship with Levi Johnston. Palin and Meyer met in 2014 while filming Palin’s mom’s reality series, Amazing America. They hit it off right away, and by 2015 announced their engagement. However, just two weeks before the planned wedding, Palin announced in an emotional blog post they had called off their engagement. In the same post, she announced she was pregnant out of wedlock for the second time. For months, she wouldn’t reveal who the father of her baby was, sparking rumors of infidelity. Eventually, it became clear Meyer was the father, and they got back together and got married in June 2016.
“Life is full of ups and downs but in the end, you’ll end up where you’re supposed to be,” Palin told Entertainment Tonight at the time.
It’s unclear exactly when Palin and Meyer separated, but on Jan. 7, Meyer posted a family photo to Instagram with the caption, “What matters,” seeming to imply the split happened within the last month.
