In the pic, Bynes is enjoying dinner with some friends at Girasol, a New American restaurant in Studio City, California.
The last time Bynes posted on Twitter was April 2017. She has been keeping a low profile, which seems to be a healthy step for her. Bynes struggled with addiction and experienced a mental breakdown in 2014. She was reportedly diagnosed with schizophrenia.
In recent months, Bynes seems to be leading a happier, healthier life.
In a June 2017 interview with Hollyscoop founder and The Lowdown host Diana Madison, Bynes explained, “I’ve been going to school lately, fashion school — FIDM. And I love it. I’ve learned how to sew, I’ve made patterns, and I want to start a clothing line in the future, so FIDM has been helping me with that. Other than that I hike, I go spinning — I take spinning classes — and I feed the homeless. And that’s been really interesting and fun.”
She added that she plans to eventually return to acting.
“I do miss acting, and I have something surprising to tell you: I’m going to start acting again,” Bynes said. “I want to do TV. Maybe a few guest spots on some shows that I’m a fan of and maybe another TV show where I’m the star of it, in the future. That’s what I hope.”
In a December 2018 statement, Bynes’ lawyer said that 2018 could be the year for her comeback.
“Amanda is looking forward to ringing in the new year with her close friends this year,” the statement explained. “In 2018, she looks forward to completing fashion school and dipping her toe back into acting. She has had several offers but is waiting for the right one to come along for a comeback.”
We’ll have to wait and see what Bynes has in store for her big acting move in 2018, but let’s hope it’s as glorious as the old faves like She’s the Man and Easy A.
