Kim Cattrall Mourns the Death of Her Brother After He Goes Missing
Kim Cattrall and her family are going through the unthinkable: The Sex and the City actor's 55-year-old brother, Chris Cattrall, has been found dead. Cattrall made the announcement on social media just hours after posting a message to her fans saying he was missing and asking for help in the search.
"It is with great sadness that myself and my family announce the unexpected passing of our son and brother, Chris Cattrall," she wrote on both Twitter and Instagram, alongside a photo of herself smiling next to Chris. "At this time we ask for privacy. We want to thank you all on social media for your outpouring of love and support in this trying time."
Chris was reported missing over the weekend of Feb. 2. Royal Canadian Mounted Police told E! News he hadn't been seen since Jan. 30 in his hometown of Lacombe, Alberta. He was later found dead on his own property, and while no details have been released about his cause of death, police have said it's not being considered suspicious.
Earlier Sunday, Cattrall had posted a photo of Chris on Instagram asking for help in finding him.
"His keys, cell phone, & wallet left on the table and his front door unlocked. This is not like Chris. He would never leave his unlocked home without those items nor his 7 beloved dogs," she wrote. "He’s a one of a kind brother. Help us bring him home safe. Please spread the world. Many thanks for reading this."
Our hearts go out to Cattrall, her family and everyone else who knew and loved Chris.
