It looks like Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is officially and totally not into pursuing relationships with famous female actors anymore, because his newest lady/love interest has confirmed they are dating. On Monday, NASCAR driver Danica Patrick told the Associated Press that she and Rodgers are indeed an item. To say this is as intriguing as it is surprising is putting it mildly, but it sounds like their relationship has been a long time coming.

After Patrick confirmed the relationship with a succinct, "Yes, we are dating," during her interview, she went on to describe how she and Rodgers met. Interestingly, they've known each other for the better part of six years. She told the AP that she and Rodgers met at the 2012 ESPYs, and back then, she joked (presumably) with him that despite being a lifelong fan of the Chicago Bears, she would "always root for him as a player."

"Now," Patrick added, "I am probably going to cheer for the whole team. Take out the word 'probably.' Now I'm going to cheer for the whole team."

It appears the two athletes have only been together for a short while, with photos surfacing via TMZ of the pair out together in the first weeks of January 2018 before the relationship was confirmed. According to E! News, Patrick ended her two-year relationship with race car driver Ricky Stenhouse in December 2017, and Rodgers, who has been casually dating of late, has been officially back on the market since his high-profile split with Olivia Munn in April 2017.

Famously tight-lipped about his private life, Rodgers hasn't commented on his new relationship with Patrick. That said, it will certainly be interesting to see how things pan out with these two.
