Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith just passed a pretty major milestone. Last night, the couple celebrated 20 years since their New Year’s Eve wedding. Two decades they’ve been married, and they’re clearly just as in love as they were on day one if Smith’s message to Pinkett Smith is any clue.
Alongside a photo of the two of them in their matching white wedding ensembles (that crushed velvet dress Pinkett Smith wore is fire, BTW), Smith wrote the most touching message about the lessons he’s learned during 20 years of marriage.
“20 Years Ago Today we held hands and walked naively down that aisle. Here’s what I’ve learned since,” he wrote.
He continued, “Love is Like Gardening… I have learned to focus on HELPING you to BLOSSOM into what YOU want to be (into what you were born to be).”
Are you swooning yet? It only gets better.
He added, “Rather than Demanding that you become what my Fragile Ego needs you to be. . I’ve learned to take pleasure in Nourishing YOUR dreams… Rather than wrestling with you to Fulfill my Selfish Needs & Satiate My Insecurities. . I have learned that Love is Listening.”
How sweet is this? If a man said any of this to me, I’d marry him on the spot.
Smith ended his message with this: “Love is Giving. Love is Freedom. . Happy Anniversary, My Queen! I am forever Devoted to Nurturing your Deepest Truth.”
These two are truly soul mates and are meant to be. If that message isn’t proof, I don’t even know what would be. Happy anniversary, Will and Jada!
