It’s pretty much accepted by now that injuries happen on Dancing with the Stars. But that doesn’t make them any easier to deal with.
Pro Lindsay Arnold, who’s paired with musician Jordan Fisher this season, proved this when she got seriously emotional talking about a recent leg injury that she worries will take her out of the competition after a promising few weeks leading the pack.
“I was practicing the pro number, and I literally just stepped up onto a stair and it felt like my whole leg gave out and stopped working,” Arnold explained in a video released by ABC. “I thought it was just a one time thing, and then it happened a couple more times just doing simple things.”

She then fought back tears as she continued, “It’s frustrating because it’s the semifinals, and I want to dance it with Jordan. I just hope this doesn’t stop me from doing that.”
It’s no wonder Arnold is upset. She and Fisher just landed perfect scores on both of their dances last week, putting them solidly in a frontrunner position for the Mirrorball trophy. And after five years on the show, Arnold has yet to take home the trophy, so it’s easy to see why the prospect of having to sit out the rest of the season is a distressing one.
Here’s hoping Arnold is able to get back on her feet quickly. She and Fisher have a lot of fans rooting for them, and they definitely deserve to finish the competition as strongly as they’ve started it.
