Rebel Wilson Reveals Her Experience With Hollywood Sexual Harassment
Rebel Wilson is adding her voice to the dozens, if not hundreds, of men and women who have spoken out about sexual misconduct in Hollywood.
Wilson took to Twitter to recount her experiences. One was a "hotel room encounter with a top director," in which Wilson said she escaped the situation as soon as things began to get weird. The other was an incident with a male star who "asked me repeatedly to stick my finger up his ass."
"I feel lucky that I grew up in a pro-female environment," Wilson explained, "going to an all-girls high school, and that I have such a strong sense of self and have taken self-defense classes. I had the ability to escape both incidents. I realize not everyone is as lucky."
Though Wilson doesn't name names in her tweets, she is still another voice speaking out against the injustice in Hollywood, especially with regards to powerful men. Harvey Weinstein, director Brett Ratner, actor Kevin Spacey and comedian Louis C.K. are some of the most notable men who have been accused of sexual misconduct recently.
This isn't the first time Wilson has used her voice to raise awareness about some of the scarier things in this world. Back in May 2016, Wilson took to Twitter to reveal she had her drink spiked at a club.
Luckily, in this case as well as the others, nothing bad happened and she made it home safely.
