Christina El Moussa is standing behind her former man. And no, we’re not talking about her estranged husband Tarek this time.
El Moussa is said to be supporting her ex-boyfriend, Doug Spedding, while he’s in rehab dealing with addiction issues, People reports.
El Moussa and Spedding reportedly parted ways because of his addiction problems, but a People insider explained El Moussa still talks with Spedding daily to offer him support during his recovery.
“Christina cares about Doug and his children, and she is thankful he’s made the decision to get help,” the insider said. “She feels strongly that it’s never too late to make a change and is being very supportive.”
The source added, “She speaks with Doug daily.”
El Moussa previously dated Spedding before she and Tarek tied the knot, and the two reunited once again over the summer following her split from her husband and Flip or Flop co-star. Though the relationship was short-lived, the two seemed to enjoy one another’s company.
El Moussa talked to E!’s Daily Pop in September and said the two were “doing great.” She added, “We’re both kind of low-key, and we like to barbecue, swim at my house, go out on the boat, watch hockey games.”
Following the news that Spedding had entered rehab, El Moussa took to Instagram to share some inspiration.
“There is no shame in beginning again,” the Instagram quote read. “For you get the chance to build bigger + bigger than before.”
She added with her caption, “People can impact you in different ways … the important ones enter your life for a reason a season or a lifetime.”
