Congratulations are in order for everyone’s favorite TV uncle, John Stamos. Stamos announced his engagement to Caitlin McHugh late on Sunday evening on both his Twitter and his Instagram, choosing to post what looks like a super-, super-adorable piece of artwork that shows what appear to be cartoon versions of himself and McHugh standing in front of Cinderella’s Castle at Disneyland after getting engaged. Well, guys, true love is very much alive and well because if that’s not the cutest way to announce that you’re engaged, I don’t know what is.
Stamos captioned the adorable picture with, “I asked…she said yes! …And we lived happily ever after,” making sure to include a diamond ring emoji. There’s no word whether or not Stamos had this happy drawing queued up in anticipation for the good news, but regardless, it’s a pretty sweet way to announce that you’re engaged as opposed to the requisite engagement selfie. Even better, looking at the location tag from the photo on Instagram — Disneyland — it looks like he popped the question at one of their favorite spots, which only makes this moment the absolute cutest thing to happen all year.
Then again, considering Stamos and McHugh’s year-plus-long courtship, it’s not surprising they took a more unconventional route to announce they were engaged or that they got engaged at Disneyland. The couple has been together since March 2016, and since then, has frequently posted the cutest photos of themselves at Disneyland on their social media despite otherwise rarely spotlighting each other on their respective accounts.
According to E! News, McHugh is an actor and model. She’s appeared in shows like The Vampire Diaries, Switched at Birth and Castle. From the looks of her Instagram, she also appears to be totally smitten with the Disney life, as evidenced by fun photos of her and Stamos having a blast on Splash Mountain and hanging out with friends in silly Disney onesies. This cuteness is too much; I might expire from it.
There’s no further word on any sort of plans regarding the nuptials (hello, they just got engaged on Sunday night!), but you can bet your boots we’ll be following this couple’s wedding planning until the day they say I do.
