Just when you thought romance was canceled, Justin Timberlake swoops in to prove that love isn’t dead. The reaffirmation came in the form of an anniversary post JT penned on Thursday to his lovely wife, actress Jessica Biel.
At first glance, it simply seemed like a video of Timberlake showing off his vocal stylings in the studio. However, the caption revealed the personal significance of the song choice: Leon Russell’s “A Song for You,” circa 1970.
After revealing that yes, he has been back at that studio grind, Timberlake explained via the Insta caption the real reason that particular day meant so much to him: “But, today is even more special for me because five years ago, on this day, I became the luckiest man in the world when I exchanged vows with my best friend. This song was our first dance.”
Say it with me now: awwwwwwwwwww!
Wait, though, because the adorableness didn’t stop there. Speaking directly to his wife, Timberlake added, “To my beautiful @jessicabiel: You have taught me so much about what a true love means. I can’t put into words what these last five years have meant to me, so… ‘Listen to the melody ’cause my love is in there hiding…'”
For good measure, he capped off the sweet sentiments with the apropos hashtags #Happy5thAnniversaryWifey and #ASongForYou.
Biel responded to Timberlake’s declaration of love by sharing his precious post. Her caption, although shorter, proved just as poignant. “My tender heart is yours, not until forever,” she wrote. She then followed it up with a video of the playful pair dancing along to a song while rocking a flower-adorned-kitten-ear filter. “How lucky am I?” Biel captioned the silly vid. “Even if he’s initially skeptical, he always gets extra for me. #5.”
Yep, it’s official — we want to be Jessica Biel when we grow up. Someone work on making that happen, stat.
