Of course we’re talking about Titanic, and of course the two stars of the groundbreaking, record-smashing film are still best friends and like to quote Titanic lines at each other.
“We’re very, very close and sometimes we do quote the odd Titanic line back and forth to each other,” Winslet told Glamour. “Because only we can, and we find it really funny.”
They’re not the only ones. We find it really funny, too. Can we please be in on the joke?
In all seriousness, though, the friendship that Winslet and DiCaprio have maintained for so many years is truly too good and pure for this world.
“You don’t even want to know the last conversation we had, because it was so funny and made me laugh so much,” Winslet said. “We found ourselves saying to each other, ‘Can you imagine if the world really knew the stupid things we say?’ I’m not going to tell you what we actually talk about, but yeah.”
Ugh, we wish they would tell us.
They’re not the only ones with a friendship that can last way longer than the Titanic‘s voyage. DiCaprio, Winslet and their Titanic villain, Billy Zane, all reunited last month for a climate change fundraiser DiCaprio hosted in St. Tropez, France. While there, Zane revealed that he still has DiCaprio’s phone number, because of course he does.
Apparently, once you make it into DiCaprio’s inner circle, you’re there for life.
