Mandy Moore just dropped the first sneak peek of the season premiere on Facebook and Instagram, and it’s already tugging at the heartstrings. In the Season 1 finale, Randall (Sterling K. Brown) dropped the bombshell on his wife, Beth, that he wanted to adopt a child. In the new clip, he reveals that Beth is struggling with the idea and turns to his adoptive mother, played by Moore, for advice.
At first, Moore says that she and her late husband knew from the moment they saw Randall that he belonged in their family. It’s a sweet story, and it almost looks like Randall is going to buy it, but he sees through her. He pushes Moore for answers, and she tells the real story. She was reluctant, and it was Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) who encouraged her to make the life-changing decision to bring Randall home after one of their triplets died in childbirth. She goes on to tell him about how that decision she was pushed into became so important to her life, and I’m not crying, you’re crying.
