Although Lovato often posts pics and video of her workouts, the star typically doesn’t post pictures of her stomach. What she does routinely share are messages encouraging her fans to have self-esteem and be body positive.

The subtext, of course, is that you don’t have to wait until you look the way society says you should to celebrate yourself — you can do it any time you take a look in the mirror and think, “Damn, girl!”
This is an important message for Lovato to model given that the singer has been open in the past about her body-image struggles. In sharing her journey and insecurities along the way, she’s undoubtedly imprinting upon young fans how crucial it is to love yourself first and foremost.
