There’s a new hit musical headed for Broadway, and we’re already getting a sneak peek. The Broadway adaptation of Disney’s Frozen is opening for an out-of-town tryout (as if it isn’t going to be a smash with its fan base already established) in Denver this month and scheduled to debut on Broadway in spring 2018. It’s just what we need to tide us over until Frozen 2 comes out in 2019.

The cast and crew behind the new production are getting us all stoked with a newly released behind-the-scenes video, showing some rehearsal shots and giving us some insight into what’s gone into turning Disney’s hit animated film into a musical production for the stage. You’ll want to watch it for the glimpses at the choreography if nothing else. Trust.

Also, some other important information to know: The musical version of Frozen is going to follow the same storyline, but instead of seven musical numbers like in the movie, it will have 21. “Let It Go” is obviously impossible to top, but that’s a lot of new music to get excited about. The musical is written by the same team who wrote the movie’s score, so you know it’s going to be good.

The musical is also going to delve a little deeper than the movie did into the backstories of the main characters, especially Anna and Elsa. Character development is never a bad thing, so bring that on.
