George Clooney Threatens Lawsuit to Protect His Twins
George Clooney has turned into the fiercest dad around.
Proving that his twins are not to be messed with, the actor is threatening legal action against a French magazine that published the first paparazzi shots to be taken of the newborns.
Voici published the photos, showing Clooney and his wife, Amal Alamuddin Clooney, holding the twins on their property in Lake Cuomo, Italy. The shots made the magazine's cover, which bragged about having "the very first pictures of the twins in the arms of their parents."
Clooney responded by giving a heated statement to E! News.
"Over the last week photographers from Voici magazine scaled our fence, climbed our tree and illegally took pictures of our infants inside our home," he said. "Make no mistake — the photographers, the agency and the magazine will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. The safety of our children demands it."
A rep for Voici denied that taking photos of the twins put them in any danger, without commenting on whether the photos were obtained while the Clooneys were on their private property.
"George and Amal Clooney have been very public personalities for the last few years," Voici's statement reads. "Their wedding in Venice, in September 2014, was a very mediatic event; the pictures of them smiling to the public were seen all around the world. The birth of their twins, Ella and Alexander, had also been commented a lot, by themselves and their families. The images published in Voici this Friday are a response to a public demand. People love George Clooney and have been following his life story for years now. Those pictures do not put in danger Mr. Clooney, his wife or their kids."
Ella and Alexander were born on June 6. Since then, the Clooneys have stayed secluded in Italy. Sources say they're enjoying parenthood and that neither has plans to return to work soon.
