Adele Cancels Her Final World Tour Shows
Sad news for Adele fans this week as she announces she's canceling the final leg of her world tour.
"On medical advice I simply am unable to perform over the weekend. To say I'm heart broken would be a complete understatement," she wrote on Twitter in a lengthy message to fans.
Rumor has it that damage to the singer's vocal cords led her to cancel the final two concerts.
It isn't just Adele's health that has her shying away from the concert spotlight, however. She has been open in the past about her stage fright.
"I don't know if I will ever tour again," Adele said during a New Zealand concert earlier this year. "The only reason I tour is you.
"Touring is a peculiar thing, it doesn't suit me particularly well. I'm a real homebody and I get so much joy in the small things," Adele explained in a recent letter to fans. "Plus I'm dramatic and have a terrible history of touring ... I only ever did this tour for you and to hopefully have an impact on you the way that some of my favourite artists have had on me live. And I wanted my final shows to be in London because I don't know if I'll ever tour again and so I want my last time to be at home."
Despite her fear, Adele is clearly devastated at the canceled tour dates, one of which was scheduled at Wembley Stadium, a performance Adele clearly considered a milestone for her career.
"Who the fuck cancels a show at Wembley Stadium?!" Adele lamented on Twitter.
Adele does, that's who. Cue the mic drop. Maybe for the final time.
