Rachel Lindsay Responds to Racist Bachelorette Tweet
You know who's just about at the end of her rope with dumb shit? Current Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay. After an idiot with the catchphrase "Waboom" officially became one of the men trying to woo her on the show and another man who had "trouble" written all over him (I'm looking at you, DeMario Jackson), Lindsay's had a tough go of it these last few weeks. Now, seemingly tired of the nonsense, Lindsay's clapping back at a low-key racist tweet. Yes, queen!
On Monday night during the latest episode of The Bachelorette, Lindsay was live-tweeting the show as per usual. Then, out of nowhere, former Bachelor contestant Leah Block decided to tweet out, "I'm sitting here watching @BacheloretteABC and my roommate just sat down on the couch and said, 'what is this? @LoveandHipHop?' DEAD." Uh, no, Miss Block. That will not fly under Lindsay's radar unnoticed.
Without missing a beat, Lindsay retweeted her and simply said, "Let me know if she wants to meet Lee... it sounds like they have a lot in common." What a sick, sick burn because — in case you hadn't heard — The Bachelorette's Lee Garrett has had some allegations of racism made against him recently.
A slew of social media posts revealed Lee's feelings toward people of color are less than stellar, which Lindsay actually addressed on The Bachelorette. So seeing Lindsay totally slap down Block's nonsense by lumping her in with another low-key racist Bachelor Nation personality is worthy of a big round of applause. According to BuzzFeed, the backlash from Bachelorette fans against Block was so great that she promptly deleted the tweet and set her social media accounts to private after attempting to explain her actions.
I'm not saying you shouldn't fuck with Rachel Lindsay, but seriously guys, don't fuck with Rachel Lindsay. OK?
