Billy Cosby Trial Jury Can’t Agree on a Final Consensus

Updated June 16, 11 a.m. PT: The jury in Bill Cosby’s rape trial has been deliberating since Monday, but remains deadlocked without a decision.

In the more than 30 hours they’ve spent in deliberation, the members of the jury have paused six times to further examine the evidence in the case, Refinery 29 reports. The judge presiding over the trial, Judge Steven O’Neill, praised the jurors for the long hours they’ve put in.

“This is an incredible jury that has just acted with incredible dignity and fidelity,” O’Neill said. “I don’t have any higher praise. You have taken your task so seriously.”

Cosby has been accused of sexual misconduct by some 60 women. He is charged with three counts of aggravated sexual assault.

Original story:

In an extremely chilling series of photos, Bill Cosby — beloved actor-turned-monster after three sexual assault charges and over 50 women claiming the same — and his wife Camille look like they’re on a regular old family outing as they arrive at the courthouse this Monday. It’s the first time she’s accompanied the comedian to any of his court hearings, which began six days earlier.

As of now, there are no plans for Camille to testify during the trial period, though she was “deposed in Feb. 2016 in a defamation case brought by several women who accused Bill Cosby of sexual assault,” according to ABC News.

Camille, 73, is seen walking arm-in-arm with her husband, 79, who dons a walking cane and black suit. The two have been married since 1964 and have four daughters, all of whom stand firmly behind Cosby and deny all claims of wrongdoing against him. His daughters have yet to attend, but his Cosby Show co-star and TV daughter, Keshia Knight Pulliam, who played Rudy Huxtable, joined Cosby in support of “the truth,” which she told reporters is that he has done nothing wrong.

Despite all these allegations and the notion that this man would do something this horrific and being sent to trial for it, the Cosbys seem unfazed by the entire ordeal. The husband and wife must have a strong bond to be able to stay together as long as they have, especially through this. Then again, Melania Trump is still with her husband despite everything he’s done. I guess being in denial together about the world around you is the key to a good relationship? Hmm, I don’t think so.

Whatever the reason is for smiling their way through Monday’s proceedings, the couple has made it seem like this is just a silly misunderstanding; over 50 of these women are so silly to be saying the exact same things in regard to the exact same man. One can only wonder what it must be like to be so rich that sexual assault is no big thing. We may never know.
