So, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard's 3-Year-Old Is Screaming the F-Word Now
Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell have two delightful daughters, Lincoln and Delta. Yes, one is named after a car company and the other is named after a major airline, but that's beside the point. The point is that Lincoln, their 3-year-old (who will turn 4 on March 28), has taken to going around saying the F-word at every opportunity. In other words, every parent's nightmare is coming true for these two celeb parents.
On The Ellen DeGeneres Show today, Shepard said the trouble all began when he bashed his nose on a bookshelf in his daughters' room. "I bend down — wham! — straight into the bridge of my nose," he told Ellen DeGeneres. "Hardest I've ever been hit, almost blacked out, I let a couple motherfuckers rip, 'cause I've lost count of where I'm at."
Because kids are kids, Lincoln definitely learned the new word right away. "Two days later, Kristen's walking down the hallway and Lincoln's in her room, trying to get a sweatshirt off, she's like, 3, and her arms are all bound up, she's getting frustrated, and she goes, 'Oh, fuck!'"
Oops. "Kristen comes in the kitchen, and she goes, 'She just said, "Oh fuck,"' and I go, 'OK, here's what we do. We'll pretend it never happened. We'll ignore it. She finds out we don't want her to say it, she'll say it all the time."
"About five hours later, we're at a pool party," Shepard continued. "Swear to God, we're in the pool, she goes, 'This pool's fucking warm.'"
LOL, but also — oh no. Bell and Shepard decided to ignore it and hope for the best, but they couldn't help but be a little proud of their daughter's verbal skills. "Side note: We were like, 'She's nailing the syntax. She knows that she's using it as an adjective, as an adverb. We were proud and she stopped saying it."
OMG. Well, all's well that ends well — for now. Here's hoping that little Lincoln doesn't pick this one up again at the most inopportune time possible.
