In a move that is surprising to almost no one, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have called off their divorce — for now.
But that doesn’t exactly mean they’re getting straight back together. According to friends, it’s possible that they could reconcile, and they’re considering it, but nothing has been decided yet except that the divorce isn’t moving forward at the moment.

It’s been almost two years since they shocked us all by announcing their split in June of 2015, and since then, they’ve co-parented their kids, gone out with one another, taken family vacations together and just generally made it seem pretty unlikely that the divorce was actually going to happen. Now, sources are telling us they went through one hell of a rough patch, but have gotten past it.
“Jen has called off the divorce,” an insider told People magazine. “She really wants to work things out with Ben. They are giving things another try… Ben is making a big effort to take care of himself. They are not back together, but there seems to be hope. Jen is hoping they can stay married. Ben doesn’t want a divorce either.”

Another source added, “There is always a chance of reconciliation. They love each other. They also really, really love their kids, and those kids love their parents.”
A month ago, rumors were circulating that after more than a year of separation, Garner was finally ready to officially file for divorce. The filing never came, though, and just a few days ago, she and Affleck hosted a birthday party at their Los Angeles home for their son Samuel, who turned 5. Their two daughters were also there.
“The girls had wrapped presents for Sam, including superhero toys,” a source dished. “They had a cake. Everyone seemed happy.”
