Just so you know, T.J. Miller was arrested right before Critics’ Choice Awards

Just because T.J. Miller didn’t want to discuss his Friday arrest at the Critics’ Choice Awards doesn’t mean the rest of us aren’t going to discuss it.

According to Deadline, Miller, who is best known for his role in HBO’s Silicon Valley, was in an altercation with a hired driver that led to Miller’s arrest after the driver accused him of battery. He was released and is scheduled to appear in court to address the situation on Jan. 9.

TMZ reported that the altercation started because of a debate the two men had regarding President-elect Donald Trump.

Miller said on Twitter that he would address the “elephant in the room” during tonight’s Critics’ Choice Awards. He is set to host the ceremony.

But Miller didn’t mention the arrest at all during his opening monologue or in any part of the show so far, not even as a joke.

Staying silent doesn’t seem to be doing Miller any good. Tweeters are unimpressed with how Miller handled himself, if the rumors about the run-in are true.

As for the Broadcast Film Critics Association, which sponsors the Critics’ Choice Awards, the organization is standing behind Miller as its host for the show tonight.

“We can’t wait to see what T.J. does tomorrow on the show,” BFCA president Joey Berlin told Deadline.

This wouldn’t be the first time a Silicon Valley star has gotten into a fight over Trump. Just last month, Miller’s co-stars Kumail Nanjiani and Thomas Middleditch were harassed at a bar by Trump supporters, who were angry over Nanjiani and Middleditch’s anti-Trump tweets.

Do you think T.J. Miller should have been allowed to host the Critics’ Choice Awards despite his arrest?
