That Grammy feud between Rihanna and Beyoncé isn’t actually a thing

Calm down everyone — Beyoncé and Rihanna are definitely not feuding.

But that hasn’t stopped a lot of their followers from thinking they are, all thanks to Rihanna’s decision to like a photo on Instagram. Yeah, that’s apparently all it takes to spark a celeb feud these days.

The picture RiRi liked was one of herself wearing a Carnival outfit with the word “SHOOK” written over it — and her boobs making the O’s in the word. It was the caption that got Rihanna in trouble — apparently the user who posted the photo was ranting about how Rihanna got snubbed in this year’s Grammy nominations.

Fuck them because they snubbed her … I think they didn’t want her tied or passing someone else *cough cough*,” the caption read, along with a lemon emoji to allude to Beyoncé’s Lemonade, which is nominated for nine Grammys. The user was apparently pissed that Bey scored nominations for Album of the Year and Song of the Year, while Rihanna’s Anti and “Work” were both passed over for those categories.

Rihanna liking the photo was taken by a lot of her — and Bey’s — fans to mean she agreed with the caption, sparking fights between the Beyhive and RiRi’s fans in the comments. But they probably should have all chilled out a little, because it turns out Rihanna didn’t even read the caption before she liked the photo.

“I never actually read your caption, thought the pic was funny and moved right along! I’m petty af, yes. But this is just unnecessary!” she wrote in a comment. “I wish y’all would drop this topic and see things from the bigger picture! We don’t need to be putting black women against each other! We deserve to be celebrated, and the Grammy Academy agrees!”
