Nick Loeb and Sofía Vergara did not part on amicable terms. More than two years after their breakup, they’re still hashing it out in court in a battle over their two female frozen embryos (Vergara wants the embryos destroyed, while Loeb intends to raise them without financial or parental help).
And now the case has taken a surprising turn…
According to Page Six, Vergara is demanding that Loeb name two of his former girlfriends (from around 20 years ago) who terminated their pregnancies. A California judge has reportedly upheld Vergara’s request to name the women. Loeb attempted to appeal the decision, but once again, the Court of Appeals backed Vergara.
The reason Vergara and her legal team want the women’s names is so that they can question them under deposition to gather information about Loeb’s sexual past. In his petition, Loeb stated that these women had nothing to do with his “relationship with Ms. Vergara, the embryos or the litigation.” And he strongly believes this information should remain private — especially given the high-profile nature of the case, which means it’s a very real possibility that his former girlfriend’s names will become public.
Loeb is so passionate about avoiding this outcome that he’s willing to go to jail for it. He told the publication, “I would rather go to jail than reveal the names. I believe we have to protect a woman’s right to privacy.”
