It seems like every week there’s a new high-profile celebrity split, and this week is no exception.

Tobey Maguire and his wife of nine years, Jennifer Meyer, just announced with a joint statement that they’re separating. Whether they have actually yet filed for divorce is unclear.
“After much soul searching and consideration we have made the decision to separate as a couple,” they wrote. “As devoted parents, our first priority remains raising our children together with enduring love, respect and friendship.”

Maguire and Meyer share two children, 9-year-old daughter Ruby and 7-year-old son Otis.
The couple met back in 2003 — Meyer, whose father owns Universal Studios, met Maguire on the set of Seabiscuit, which was filming there. They started dating almost immediately, but didn’t tie the knot until four years later in a small, intimate wedding ceremony in Kona, Hawaii, with only a handful of family and friends present.
Though not quite as famous as Maguire, Meyer has owned and operated a successful jewelry line since before they met. Maguire, Meyer and their children have been living private lives out of the public eye for a few years now — Maguire’s last acting job was in 2014’s Pawn Sacrifice.
